Buurp

Ahaa,

I bet most of you are enjoying the hari raya goodies, lemang, ketumpat, rendang, nasi himpit etc etc etc. Please set certain limit while eating so that you won't regret yourself at the end of the day. The abundance of foods & cookies should not be used as an excuse to fill up your stomach to the brim.

OK, let us talk about the second test. As a reminder, the test will be held on Monday, 28th. September 2009 at the Library Examination Hall. The duration of the test is 1 1/2 hours from 8.30 pm - 10 pm. The test will cover Chapter 6 until Chapter 10. There will be 5 short questions to be answered in Part A and for Part B you need to answer only 2 questions out of 3 given questions. Please pay attention on the following topics:
1. Circular motion and forces in circular motion
2. Work and work done by frictional force
3. Conservation of energy and energy equations
4. Conservation of momentum and energy in elastic collision
5. Equations of motion, torque and power in rotational motion

See everyone in "one-piece" on Monday, Insya Allah, God Willing.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Dearest Students,

Hari Raya Aidilfitri is just around the corner. I guess all of you are going back to your hometown by Thursday or Friday and I would like to take this opportunity to wish "Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri, Maaf Zahir Batin" to the Muslims. As for the rests, happy holidays and please use the long break wisely.

While enjoying the ketupat, rendang, dodol etc., please take precaution on your health. The H1N1 virus is still roaming the air, and as such try to avoid big crowds and always stick to hygienic practices at all time. Hopefully as the break is over, everyone is back in one piece, healthy and motivated.

We still have two weeks to go before the final exam on the 12th. October 2009. As a reminder, the second test will be held on 28th. September 2009 from 8.30 - 10.00 pm, and I'm very sure all of you are geared for the test.

So long for now, see you guys after the hari raya break, Insya Allah.

Approaching the Final Week

Hi there,

Thank you for the remarks from some of you that were posted in my blog. I saw new members following my blog but they are using pseudonames. Nevertheless, time flies very fast. Next week is the last week of Ramadhan and to the Muslims including myself, it is a sad occasion since the blessing and virtues of Ramadhan will be missed by all of us. Let us pray that Allah SWT will grant His mercy upon us.

Talking about the final week, our semester is approaching toward the end and for the coming weeks, everyone of you needs to buck up and do a lots of revision. Start preparing yourself from now and this includes the Hari Raya breaks.

I'm planning to give you guys a quiz next Tuesday. It is going to be a simple one and I bet everybody can do it. OK guys, see you next Monday Insya Allah.

Moving On

Hi Everyone,

Next Monday is another public holiday. To the Muslims, the Nuzul Quran marked the day in which the first few verses of the Al-Quran were revealed to Prophet Muhammad SAW.

So we have only two hours of lectures to go with for next week. Most likely we are not able to finish Chapter 10. Anyway, we'll do our best to keep up with the syllabus. As for the second test, the subject coordinator has not decided on the date yet. I'll keep you guys posted!

So long and see you guys next week, God Willing.

The Coming Weeks

Hi everyone.

How was the test? I hope everyone did very well but I have yet finish marking your answer scripts. I hope to finish the marking over the weekends. Apart from that I guess you still owe me Quiz #2. As I have mentioned earlier, we will have couple of replacement classes in the coming weeks to cover the classes that we have missed during the closure of the campus because of the A(H1N1) virus. I anticipate that we will have more classes that need to be replaced due to holidays over the Merdeka Day on 31st. August and the Hari Raya breaks on 21st. & 22nd. September. The replacement classes will be held on Wednesdays 2-3 pm for Section 1 and Thursdays 9-10 am for Section 2.

To my Muslim students, I wish all of you a bless Ramadhan. As you all know, we will start observing the Ramadhan fasting month this Saturday. Insya Allah I hope everyone of you have geared yourself for the month. This is a month where we are supposed to cleanse ourself physically & spiritually. Please make a point to take your "sahur" before the dawn prayer and drink plenty of water so that you will not get exhausted during the day. There will also be one special night during this month known as "Lailatul-Qadr". Here is a short excerpt about the night: Lailatul-Qadr is the most virtuous night in the year. Almighty Allah says in the Qur'an: “We have indeed revealed this (Message) in the Night of Power: And what will explain to thee what the night of power is? The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.” (Al-Qadr: 1-3) The hidden treasures of Lailatul-Qadr and the great reward for those who strive hard in this blessed night was kept hidden except for some apparent signs. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) urged Muslims to seek it in the last third part of Ramadan and namely in the odd number of nights. The fact that it is kept hidden is for a divine wisdom so that people strive in worshipping Allah as much as they can.

Of course it is also very challenging to stay awake during the classes especially the afternoon classes! All right folks, here are our topics for next week:

8.0 Potential Energy
8.1 Potential Energy of a System
8.2 The Isolated System-Conservation of Mechanical
Energy
8.3 Conservative Force
9.0 Linear Momentum and Collisions
9.1 Linear Momentum and Its Conservation
9.2 Impulse and Momentum
9.3 Collisions in One Dimension
9.4 Two-Dimensional Collisions
9.5 The Center of Mass

All the best!

Coming Back

Hi there!
I pray that everyone of you out there is safe and sound. It is devastated to learn that the number of casualties from the H1N1 virus keeps on increasing. Please take extra precautions and maintain hygienic practices at all time.

As you all know, the campus will be reopened next week and I hope to see all of you in high spirit and excellent health. We have missed one week of lessons and we need to do a lot of catch-ups in the coming weeks to meet the demands of our syllabus. Insya Allah, God Willing I'll do my best to accomodate the situation. In return, I hope all of you will strive hard to meet all the challenges and expectations.

As a reminder, our Test #1 is rescheduled to Tuesday, 18 August 2009. Quiz #2 is also due on the same date.

All the best and see you guys!
